So, I've heard this quote in two different places in the last 3 days.
"Good judgment is the result of experience, experience is the result of bad judgment."

Happy Puppies
"Dog Tired"
Since I think I know all two people who read my sad little blog, I know you'll appreciate how excited I am about this picture. After about 30 minutes of playing ball the boys collapsed in the shade in the cool grass. Perhaps my boys are finally friends! Or at least tolerate each other's existence :)

Capital City Half Marathon
Activity
At around mile 9 my right knee really started to hurt, but luckily that mile was down hill so even though I walked some I was able to make up for it. Then miles 10 & 11 were killer because they were straight up hill and my knee was really hurting by then. By mile 12 I was trying to gear up for the last mile. And mile 13 was all downhill so I was able to finish pretty well. I forgot to turn off my GPS right when I finished because I was focused on water... I think my chip time was actually 2:38.

Wisconsin
So, I've made it to Wisconsin on my cross country trek. I've been trying to run with the dogs most days and have been doing ok. Today it's raining so I'm off the hook for running. If I wouldn't have to pack wet clothes I might have gone running anyway because the temperature is nice.
Well, that's about it. I'm kind of too tired to be very creative. Tonight we're going to drive as far as Rapid City and then go see Mt. Rushmore tomorrow.

Catalina
The most relaxed and at ease I've been in years, truth be told probably for more than a decade, was for the few days I spent on Catalina island last summer. It was absolutely incredible. I felt liked I'd stepped back in time to a place where everything was calmer and quieter. It was the first time in over five years that I didn't check e-mail, voice mail, or even turn on my cell phone for three whole days. No chain restaurants; no box stores; no hustle and bustle. Just quaint shops and restaurants. Everyone was low key, there to enjoy the tranquility. I sat on the beach and did nothing other than enjoy the warmth of the sun. The people were friendly yet unobtrusive.
